- Take out comprehensive travel insurance covering all eventualities.
- Check the latest Foreign and Commonwealth Office Travel Advice.
- Take enough money to fund your stay and to pay for your trip home.
- The crime rate is low, consisting mainly of theft of unattended
personal property, pick pocketing and petty crime. Always keep your
belongings in a safe place and do not leave them unattended on the beach.
- Beware of strong currents whilst swimming in the sea. Always observe
the coloured warning flags.
- Exercise caution when driving. The standard of driving can be erratic
and some of the roads in a poor state of repair.
- If involved in a traffic accident, always wait for the police to
arrive on the scene. Failure to do so can result in heavy penalties.
- Do not carry or take illegal drugs. The penalties are severe and will
result in a long jail term.
- Do not drink and drive.
